Thomas Fogarty Jr., a painter and art teacher, died on Wednesday at his home in Manhattan. He was 73 years old. Mr. Fogarty, who taught at the Art Students League in Manhattan for many years, exhibited his oil and pastel landscapes and still lifes at the Whitney Museum of American Art and many New York galleries. He began his teaching career at the Pratt Institute and Rutgers University, before coming to the league, where he taught painting, composition and life drawing. (NYTIMES CREDIT)
