Adriaen Van Ostade is considered the father of the Dutch peasant painting. His interior scenes populated by small figures, which Ostade painted at the height of his career. Rembrandt and several other artists had influence over Ostade's paintings.
Ostade painted scenes near his home and everyday life of his friends and other peasants. Rembrandt's influence is primarily in the colour palette that he used in thse images.
The painting has a ton of documentation. Very good condition.
