ADRIAEN VAN OSTADE (1610-1684)
Adriaen van Ostade was born in Harrlem, Netherlands in 1610. He became a student of Frans Hals in 1627 and was admitted to the Haarlem Artists Guild of St Luke in 1634. From 1631 onwards van Ostade painted cottage and barn interiors with good-natured merrymakers. The farmer's lifestyle caused a whole artistic movement among Dutch artists of the 1600s using themes of everyday life in their times. Van Ostade paintings are sought after and have sold recently at excellent prices. Call Bill Union and see what you can purchase this Old Master for.
